We aim to promote all aspects of this period by exchanging information and ideas in our quarterly magazine 'UPDate', and our members-only web forum and wiki. We have a network of area groups established across Britain that hold regular meetings and we hold an annual exhibition - DEMU Showcase.

The Tramway and Light Railway Society is a registered National Charity and is the UK society for everyone interested in tramways and especially tramway modelling.

Founded in 1938, the TLRS now has around a thousand members.

There are keen tram modelling groups in the Society covering most scales, with the strongest representation in 1:16, O gauge, and 'sub-7mm', which covers OO, HO and N scales.

There are area groups in many parts of the UK.

The aims and objectives of our group are: - the promotion of model railways for the benefit of the public by means of exhibitions, displays, talks, film shows and any other media types and also to encourage younger people to take an interest in the history of railways locally, nationally and internationally.
