East Beds MRS are a small club of like minded enthusiasts who meet for a chat and operate and build model railways. We currently have two exhibition standard layouts both in OO finescale. One is a GWR/SR branch line in North Devon, the other is a BR 1950s depiction of a location on the Lincolnshire coast . A third OO finescale layout based on Finchley Road and Frognal in North London is being built and a group of 2mm modellers are building our fourth layout based on Aylesbury in the 1960s.

Founded in June 1962, the society (EMRS for short) has been in existence for over 50 years. We meet every Wednesday, and most Tuesdays and Thursdays, at our clubrooms in Belvedere.

A club test track in N, OO and O gauges is always available for use and new members are always welcome.

Gauge 1 Yorkshire Group

The Gauge 1 Yorkshire Group consists of about 100 members, all of whom have an interest in Gauge 1 railways. We have a number of garden railways we use throughout the year in Yorkshire - although the majority of the group are based in South and West of the county. We run live steam, radio controlled electric and some of us have two-rail electric layouts. We mainly specialise in UK outline, but some members do prefer continental stock. The society caters for all model engineering disciplines and welcomes new members, especially youngsters. Formed in 1935, it has occupied its present Waltham Windmill site, on the outskirts of Grimsby, since 1987, where it has created an interesting track catering for 3-1/2in, 5in and 7-1/4in gauge locomotives. Public running takes place every Sunday and bank holiday from March to end of October and Wednesdays during school summer holidays. Also road vehicle roadway and garden gauge railway.

Railway society of approx. 35 members interested in many railway subjects and has 2 weekly meetings/talks etc. from Sept through till May and visits to railway and model railway related sites from June to Aug. There is also section of 'N' and '00' gauge modellers. The society runs a model railway exhibition every year in May.
