Have visited this shop on 2 occasions each time I have been given poor advice, with the assistant saying "I would not sell you something that was not good quality" But he recommended a RC MT truck which not only is very expensive but also a very hard to not break and maintain model. To sum up poor advice and high prices

I went into this shop on Sunday 5th August 2012 with a friend who was visiting from surrey as he wanted to purchase a model building for his railway layout. As we had a look around, we noticed that there was a stack of boxed model buildings on top of a display cabinet which were out of my friends reach, so (As a tall person) I reached down three small boxes which included the one he was interested in. In doing so, I was immediately approached by a guy from behind the counter who assertively told me that reaching down the boxes was only allowed by members of staff. He then pointed to a sign which read 'please do' which made absolutely no sense, but it then became clear that a 'member of staff' had stuck some silly flags to the top of the display cabinet which not only served absolutely no useful purpose, but also obscured the signs which should have in fact read 'please do not touch'. I told the guy that had I realised the signs were there, then I would have asked for assistance and not "Touched" the boxes. As a man who is approaching 48, I felt that I was being spoken to as if I was approaching 8 and found the whole experience intimidating. My friend did in fact decided to purchase the model (Which I wouldn't have done), but as we left the shop he told me that he found the shop assistants tone unecessary and offensive. This is a very expensive shop, and it's a pity that the standard of service is not reflected in their over inflated prices. I will never enter (Or purchase from) this shop again.
