Have been a customer since the 1980's. Always found the shop to be well stocked with just about everything a modeller would need. The staff are always helpful and answered all the queries if have throw at them. Prices are competitive on new items. second hand items may not be as cheap as some 'online' bargains but this is understandable as they do need to eek a profit on these items. The model railway industry has changed considerably over the decades and as a retailer I would say they have moved with the changes and the customer is still central to there business

Visited this shop as I happened to be in the area. I found a good selection of locomotives (In a easy to view glass case) as well as scenic items and everything you need to build a railway. Fixed prices (No offers) but prices appeared very reasonable. They have a fair selection of secondhand items available Online. Easy plentiful parking outside

Had a day off, the sun was shining, so two of us had a drive to a number of outlets that are outside of our usual catchment area. Score based on amount of stock on display, which was impressive. Not the cheapest, and felt that the staff could have been a little more helpful. [Response: "This encounter has to be put into context. We have a lot of second hand stock which for space reasons is not on display. This is put onto a website. We give customers the use of a computer to browse this in store. Other items will be still to be sorted, checked and listed. These are the items he offered to look through.
Some customers see it as a right to demand something which when refused take offence. I have delt with customers who have become agitated under such circumstances. I have had a staff member sworn at for refusing to "take an offer" on a low priced item. These sort of "reviews" are easy for the customer to make. We are probably one of the fairest, helpfull modelshops. Yes not the cheapest in comparison to some of the major discounters but very close. We do offer a service with knowledgable staff."]
