On 31st January 2018 I visited the website to review opening hours, however there was no indication of the festive opening hours, so assumed the shop would be open. The shop was shut, looked like some renovation was being carried out, but no indication of when it would be open, very disappointed.

I have spent many a Happy hour in this wonderful shop! The range is fantastic if you are after something a bit different! I've always liked the fact that Robin will leave you to browse as sometimes I've just popped in to have a look around whilst my car has been serviced. But you can always strike up a conversation with Robin and his staff and always worth asking if there are any special offers!!

At first glance this looks like an aladdin's cave for model railways with fantastic stock (Except for z gauge). I had rung before I went to check availability, so the man knew I had traveled a long way to buy this item and full retail (Over £100). I might as well have been a bandit for the reception I got. He didn't even raise his head from his paperwork while he served me. If you are really desperate for an item go there, but don't expect to be an appreciated or valued customer. Very disappointing. [Response: "I am sorry that some people find me rude but they obviously don't know me. I have many customers that I have helped over the years from design, build, wiring and obtaining simple things for repairs.
I also do not pester customers or force them to buy when they visit and leave them to their own devises. If they want something I am here to help. As a shop keeper it is impossible to stock everything that a person specifically wants but we order it. The value of stock in shops is always increasing and pleased to say over the last year we have tried to increase it but some items do get missed out if there is a lack of sales for that line. Z I am pleased to say in increasing.
Amongst other things I do I also am a career for my continued wife's illness. Please don't be so quick to judge me without knowing me or my problems I face. It might have been a bad day.

Visited 7/8/15 whilst on a day trip to wsm. Asked about stock of roco swedish railways. Nothing in stock (Not surprising as there can't be many who would want swedish!), however, he was very happy to order anything. Lovely shop to browse, good stocks of continental plastic kits, came away with several catalogues (Kibri, faller etc.). Nice to see a good range of dapol.
