Dropped in here 26th May 17. Good range of new stock from major makes, well displayed. Some continental HO available too. Second hand OO also available. Also has a good range of Airfix kits and Scalextric. Plus diecast vehicles. Pleasent staff with knowledge of the hobby. Will be back when passing that way.

First class and old fashioned service in a very convivial way. The guy who looked after me, aiden lee, is very knowledgeable about all aspects of railway modelling and made it a real pleasure to part with my money. Good shop for browsing with everything nicely displayed. Small track track to test purchases. Well worth a visit and comes highly recommended.

My first experience at constructing an N gauge model railway layout and I found the staff here to be more than willing to spend time helping me with construction details and tips.

A complete waste of time! Never used roxley before but I try to support independent model shops so I went over specially as I was down south from lancashire visiting friends not twenty miles from the shop, . Arriving in bad traffic and heavy rain, I was told that the only person who could talk with me was having his lunch and wasn't going to be available until 2pm. I looked at my watch - it was only 1302! Now I employ 990 staff and I don't get an hour for lunch, ever! Fifteen minutes on a good day. But I was told I had to come back a full hour later before "The only prison who could deal with me" Would deign to do so. Jibbing a bit at that I then asked whether the items I wanted were in stock, to check whether it was worth returning -and I had to go and look myself- to discover the shop was out of stock of the relevant not terribly rare Hornby maunsells, so my hour wait would have been an utter waste. Could I come back at two? I was again asked. I cannot imagine ever returning to a shop where the customer is treated like this by the proprietor. I am aware of the rules of posting such comments but my experience as a genuine customer was the poorest I have ever received in a model shop.

My visit to this shop was well worth it. The staff were very helpful and had great knowledge on the railway department. When spending money on expensive items it is great to have expert advice which is what I received. There are lots of accessories for your layout also. They also do a next day delivery service if you can’t get to the shop which is very helpful.

We telephoned this shop first to get some advice & enquire as to what types of things they had stock as we were buying a gift, they explained in detail and answered any questions we had so we thought we would pop over to see for ourselves, the staff were very helpful & explained that they had more in stock upstairs and if we wanted to pick them out from the listing they would go find them. Also as it happened they had a half price sale on the things we wanted so was really pleased. Would recommend to anyone. Helpful, brilliant knowledge, excellent range of stock

Excellent shop with very helpful staff and random ’discount’ days. I went in for a browse and ended up buying some gear and having a chat. My type of shop, not enough of these places around!
