ASIS3D - Affordable 3D Design and Printing

As a keen railway enthusiast and modeller for many years, I've always been frustrated at the lack of availability of some items and have scratch built items for my own model railways for years. Earlier this year, I was making a sign for my model of the sea wall at Teignmouth and somebody asked me if it had raised letters like the real thing. I didn't, but it set my mind running and a few days later, I had managed to 3D print the letters and the sign now had raised letters.
I was already making static grass applicators for people under the brand name Railtrax and so started selling 3D printed custom station name signs under the same brand. This led to several enquiries for different items and, together with items I was designing and printing for my own layout, I soon had a portfolio of products to offer for sale.
It seems others are equally frustrated that they cannot get items they want and are only too happy to engage me to design and print products for them, especially as I don't usually charge for the design work if the item is something I can sell to others.
As a result there are lots of exciting products in the pipe-line including an affordable reliable motorising kit for the Peco turntable and a moving vehicle system in OO gauge that I hope will match the Faller system but at an affordable price, and for British 4mm scale vehicles.
Later this month I will launch a brand new website, and I am investing in the latest 3D resin printing technologies to bring higher quality lower cost parts.
Finally, I always get frustrated when somebody offers an item for sale at say £3.95 and when you get to the checkout they want £4 postage so I only ever charge postage at cost. Packaging costs are built into my product prices, and a customer will only ever pay the actual cost of postage.
Andrew Sisley,
Owner of ASIS3D.
